Ventile ® was the first truly effective all weather fabric whose breathability performance remains unsurpassed. Its secret lies in the uncoated and unlaminated construction. The fabrics are 100% cotton, utilising the finest, long staple fibres, only found in the top 2% of the world's crop. After gentle spinning and doubling, the yarn is woven into a very dense Oxford weave, using up to 30% more yarn than conventional woven fabrics.

The performance of Ventile ® fabrics results from the properties of cotton fibres which expand when they come into contact with water. The combination of fibres, yarns and weave causes expansion in a uniform manner. This allows the interstices within the fabric to close up, preventing the further passage of water. In addition to this, Ventile is impregnated with a high quality DWR system which enhances the fabrics water resistant properties and increases performance.

The fabric therefore provides excellent protection against the wind, rain, snow and cold.

    Thanks for the jacket
Quality is brilliant you can see it will last. Just spent few days in the rain and stayed perfectly dry which says a lot to the Ventile fabric. You can see that a lot of attention went into details when designing the jacket so it works great on the bike and looks smart off it.
As compared to other Gore Tex jackets it’s actually good value with the benefit of looking cool.
Delivery to Switzerland was super fast and support for sizing very friendly.
I am 184cm and around 85kg and L fits perfect.

  2. @thecoldswimguy

Amazing quality – really happy with it. A note on sizing – according to my careful measurements, I came out as a medium. However, this was really tight on my (quite wide, swimmer’s) shoulders so had to exchange for a large. Exchange couldn’t have been easier.

  3. Alan van Heerden

I love this Jacket and have since got another one in the other colour. Ideal for cycling and looking smart as well.

  4. Rob

The day after ordering a brown jacket to supplement my already heavily used blue it arrived! Wonderful customer service to match such a quality product. It looks ultra smart in a casual way and will be used for walking.

  5. Rob

I have just been gifted a blue medium jacket and I am more than happy. On or off the bike this will be my go to jacket. The quality of design and craftsmanship is superb.

  6. Robert Lisney

I have owned my Demon Jacket since the beginning of February 2017 and I thought it was about time I gave it a solid review.

I first saw the prototype of this Jacket at ‘Bespoked’ 2016; I was initially drawn in by the use of Ventile fabric. Ventile was originally invented for military use and has many qualities but above all it is superb at keeping the elements out whilst maintaining excellent breathability. In my opinion it is a seriously underused material in the ‘outdoor’ industry.

Quality – This jacket screams quality. I will stop talking about Ventile shortly but it is worth noting that Ventile fabric is 100% cotton, which is sourced from the finest 2% of the entire global crop! Private White V.C. who has been working wonders with Ventile for years have manufactured the jacket. All their jackets are hand made here in the UK by very skilled craftspeople.

Yes, this is an expensive jacket and it took me a while to commit, but the more I wear it the more I realise and appreciate the thought that has gone in to it. The jacket is packed with features and subtle touches that only a cyclist could have thought of.

For me, the weight and cut of the jacket is spot on. During the summer months I just wear less under it and during the winter I tend to wear it with a thin down jacket that packs to nothing if I get too warm.

Anyway, enough blabber from me, go buy a Demon jacket! You won’t regret it.

  7. Rob

Brilliant Jacket. Great for cycling in any weather and I also use it on my scrambler bike when riding the moor trails.
Great quality, excellent natural British cloth, superb design by somebody who understands how awful our fellow cyclists can look in their ‘sausage skin’ outfits!!
And it is also good value too: I have bought lesser jackets for more money in the past.
It will also further improve as it ages.
    Well done Tom and thanks.

  8. Richard

Its impossible to not notice the amount of thought that has gone in to the design of this jacket. The fabric, features, fit and overall aesthetic really shine and after months of wearing to all occasions it feel better and better. The fabric felt ever so slightly stiff on the first wear but this is a good thing as it softens quickly and more to your own movement and body shape. The private white quality and craftmanship as so good, the zip, stitching, buttons and of course the awesome fabric.

  9. Pal Gill

Great all round everyday jacket – beautiful design, fantastically well put together using high quality materials. It looks great and feels great on.

  10. timfrost1

The pictures do not do this jacket justice – it really is a very high quality and impeccably made. I’ve also found it weather resistant even at this time of year. Quickly become a favorite both on and off the bike.

  11. Luke

I’ve had the jacket a few weeks now, having tested in wind, rain & snow and am delighted with it.
I’m just under 6ft/78kg and the medium ended up fitting me well.
It has a classic look and very robust build that should see this jacket lasting many years. It’s clear that a lot of care has gone into the production of this jacket with many useful features (apart from weather/wind proofing, the long scalloped cuffs on the sleeves, the rear bottom flap, the velcro collar lock, etc…).
In short, I’m really very happy with this product and Tom’s customer service was exceptional (I originally ordered the incorrect size and he replaced it at no extra charge).
    Very impressed.

  12. David Henderson

It can look dressed up or down, good for town and country. Wonderfully waterproof and comfortable. Great length for walking or cycling in rain storms.

  13. Tom

The reviews already written say it all – particularly the one that says this is a “beautiful jacket period”. The fit and the quality of workmanship are fabulous and I love it. It is that little bit unusual and clearly not mass produced and it gets comment whenever I wear it. Get one.

  14. paul

It’s hard to come up with much that hasn’t already been said in the other reviews about this amazing jacket! I have always fancied a Ventile cycling jacket and had heard of the legendary “Green Spot” jackets of the 1950s. I think its safe to say this raises the bar considerably in features and attention to detail. The quality of workmanship and thought that has gone into every detail is plain to see. Had to stop myself buying it in the other colour! I love it!

  15. Mark

I have now had my Demon Jacket for over a year and I can honestly say it’s one of the best investments I’ve made in cycle clothing. It’s the attention to details that makes all the difference, and for cycling in the UK where wet weather is not uncommon its an ideal garment. Buy one now while stocks last!!

  16. Mario

I bought this jacket mainly to ride a bike without the hardcore look of most technical clothing, but with all the necessary features to ride without worries of climate, rain or where to put your personal belongings. The jacket proved to be above expectations. It’s actually a beautiful jacket, period.

  17. D Meadows

I was fortunate enough to have one of the very first Demon jackets. Keen to wear it on all occasions, its already had quite a hard life with me and it has shrugged this off effortlessly. All my previous waterproof jackets were really obviously waterproof and technical. This is fantastically understated and attractive. It has seen horrendous rain in Wales and kept me perfectly dry throughout, it has stood up well to rough treatment on walks and rides but also looks great when you fall into a pub exhausted. Features like the pleating and arm length are fantastic. The pocket location and size is ideal and little features like the custom poppers, internal taping and fit disclose just how well it is made. The Ventile fabric was comfortable from the outset but has become more so as time has gone on. I love this jacket.

  18. Adrian

Top quality. This jacket is superb. Every detail has been considered. It’s incredibly comfortable to wear riding, it looks the part and it’s made to last. I’m not one to get excited about stuff I wear, but this jacket is worth it. Highly recommended.

  19. dannydecat

Best jacket I ever bought. Didn’t expect it to look as good on me as it did on the cover of Urban Cyclist magazine! Also, I didn’t expect it to be this hard-wearing (and I’ve been wearing it virtually non-stop for a year, not only when riding my bike, and yes it’s warm enough for the winters we get these days). The Ventile fabric is miraculously light and waterproof, the long sleeves and the shaped cuffs don’t only keep the wind out but also look super cool, the huge ‘game pocket’ has allowed me to leave my backpack at home more than once. I would buy it again. If this one ever wears out, that is.

  20. andrewfclark

This is a wonderful jacket. High quality British needlework. I do believe it makes me considerably better looking.

  21. Douglas Glen

Much more than a “cycling” jacket, quality is absolutely superb. Foresee that this will last for years and years. 1st saw it at Bespoked 2017, and ordered online after getting home as felt I had let it get away. Very smart, can be teamed up with jeans/trousers and has also been worn to a function with a kilt! Look the business with a subtle nod to your love of cycling with those in the know. Recommended.
